In September 2019, LIFE Peat Restore project was represented in two international conferences.
On September 26, Māra Pakalne respresented LIFE Peat Restore project in the LIFE Egge-Moore final conference in Paderborn, Germany, attended by more than 50 participants. The conference was a great opportunity to learn peatland restoration experience and techniques applied in Germany and awareness raising approaches, as several ongoing LIFE projects from Germany participated in the event: “Atlantic region DE – The exemplary implementation of the EU 2020 target with a focus on oligotrophic habitats on sand in the Atlantic region of Germany” (LIFE15 IPE/DE/000007), “Hannoversche Moorgeest – Re-wetting valuable raised bogs in the northern Hannover Region” (LIFE11 NAT/DE/000344) un “LIFE-Projekt Egge-Moore – Schutz und Entwicklung der Moor-Lebensrume im südlichen Eggegebirge” (LIFE12 NAT/DE/000136). The conference presentation by M. Pakalne is available here.
