The teams of LIFE Peat Restore from Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Germany met for the first time in Riga at the first project meeting in the end of February. The University of Latvia, one of the Latvian partners, invited to the Botanical Garden to discuss about the status of the project, the ongoing activities and monitoring concepts.
In the project, meetings will be organized every six months in a different project country to discuss the project organization and preparation of the progress reports. In the future these meeting will also contain field trips to the project sites, where restoration measures will be implemented.
The 30 team members took advantage of the meeting to get to know each other and connect between the organizations. The next encounter will be end of April in Brandenburg, Germany for an international workshop on GEST (Greenhouse Gas Emission Site Type).
